Celery is a perennial root crop, which, however, usually grows only for two years.

All parts of the plant (greens, petioles, tubers and seeds) are edible and used in cooking as spices or in fresh form.

The product has a distinctive aroma, spicy and tart, and the taste combines sweet and bitter notes. Spice color is green.
